Attention City of Johnstown residents:
As many of you may know National Grid is currently working on a gas main upgrade project on S. William Street between W. Montgomery Street & Potter Road. This is one of several utility upgrade projects National Grid is planning on overtaking over the next couple of years, to allow for better and safer natural gas service for residents within the City. Unfortunately, like with most construction, these projects will come with their share of inconveniences, especially for those who live in and travel through the affected areas. National Grid is a private utility company and has the right to service and upgrade their utilities as they deem necessary. However, the City is working with them to try to keep these inconveniences to a minimum. We are asking everyone to understand that projects like these can be time consuming and will impact traffic during construction operations. Unfortunately, the City of Johnstown is not directly involved with decision making on which mains are replaced but we are working with National Grid to try to ensure that these projects go as smoothly as possible. Should you have any questions or concerns in regard to this project please reach out to National Grid. Their contact representative is Sue Collins @ 518-752-9033 Thank you for your patience and understanding. |
